As a public service to our guests and citizens, the Spooner Police would like to make you aware of some of the City’s ordinances. Although this is just a short list, the police would like you to keep them in mind.

The City of Spooner has adopted the state traffic laws from Chapter 340 to Chapter 349.

Ordinance Number

10-1-20 Snow removal and parking. There shall be no parking on any City street from November 1 through March 31 for the purpose of snow removal. Parking fines are given when necessary. Vehicles will be towed.

10-1-28 Angle parking is allowed on Walnut Street, but is restricted to trucks not over 3/4 ton , pickups and motor vehicles not in excess of 20 feet in length.

10-2-3 Skateboards are regulated and not permitted in the Downtown area.

10-3-1 State snowmobile laws are adopted and the City has established snowmobile routes in the City. This information is available at City Hall, the Police Department or the Tourist Booth located on Hwy 63 in the City of Spooner. ATV users can enjoy the same routes as the snowmobile riders. Trails are marked and laws are enforced for both. There are ways to get off the trails for food, gas and lodging.

11-4-1 No open alcohol containers are allowed outside of the licensed premises. Violations of this ordinance will result in a fine.

11-4-1 Curfew. No one under the age of 16 shall be out at night from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. unless accompanied by an adult. There are some exceptions to this rule to accommodate school, church or civic functions, but there is a time limit for these instances, as well.

Chapter 174 covers dogs at large as well as cats. Dogs and cats must be leashed. You may only have two animals total and they all must have proof of vaccination. Dogs are required to be licensed with the City.
